The 101 Program Opens Up A Whole New Way Of Life

As a high flying executive in the technology field, few who knew 55 year old Carol Coats had any inkling that she was drinking uncontrollably from dawn to dusk every day. But by the time she underwent The 101 Program in 2004 her addiction dated back 20 years and had benefited little from AA, inpatient and outpatient programs, counselling or a variety of medications, including Antabuse.

“Prescription and over-the-counter drugs had become a way of life to counter hangovers and tiredness, and I was convinced that this was going to be the way it was until I died” explains Carol, who lives in Virginia, the US, with her husband and two teenage children. “I held down my job and had a wonderful family but I simply could not function without alcohol. Since going on The 101 Program, however, I have not only been dry but, most importantly, I no longer constantly crave alcohol. This is because the program has addressed the biochemical imbalance in my brain.

“It was hard at first but not as hard as the other programs I have been on. It adjusts your biochemistry and for a week I didn’t feel great but that soon passed. I then began doing things again that I hadn’t been able to do in 20 years, like taking long walks with my family and rejoining the gym. It has been truly amazing. The program is not just about the absence of alcohol, it is also about the presence of health. If you genuinely want to become wholesome and healthy and to regain the joy that alcohol takes from all of us then this is the way to do it.”

‘Most importantly I no longer constantly crave alcohol. This is because the program has addressed the biochemical imbalance in my brain.’

After contacting Genita Petralli online and expressing a desire to sign up for The 101 Program as an outpatient, Carol was invited to fax detailed information about her nutritional intake and, once this had been assessed by Petralli, received an appropriate package of supplements to meet her particular individual needs. She was then required to begin a two month detox period, which involved consuming no meat, dairy products, sugar, caffeine, processed foods or gluten.
During the eighth week of the detox, after her intake of supplements had been suspended for a week, she was required to turn up at a local hospital to provide blood, urine and saliva samples.

Based on laboratory tests performed on these, Genita Petralli developed a very specific biochemical formula for Carol, who was a classic case of someone who had low blood sugar levels and adrenal fatigue and, as is common with drinkers, tested low for serotonin.

The recommendations formed the basis of her personalised treatment (the Ark) program, which lasted nine months. At no point, during either the detox or the Ark program, did she have to take any time off work. Indeed, from a very early stage it really helped her performance in the workplace, and colleagues frequently commented that she seemed much more vibrant and alert.

‘The rewards start kicking in very quickly so you don’t feel tempted to drop out once you have started the program.’

“It’s not about giving something up but about adopting something new,” explains Carol, “and the rewards start kicking in very quickly so you don’t feel tempted to drop out once you have started the program. It has given me my whole life back and within six months of completing the course I had even gone to stay in the house I was supposed to be designing in Mexico for the past 20 years but had never got around to drawing up the plans. I am now able to enjoy family life far more and to do things like attend school functions. All my family have been absolutely delighted.”

Indeed, Carol’s father, who’d had chronic alcohol problems of his own, was so impressed by the effect it had on his daughter that he decided to undergo The 101 Program himself at the age of 82.  His resulting recovery enabled Carol to spend what she describes as “five beautiful years” with him up until the time he recently passed away.
